WABC Radio To Air Every Men's Basketball Game

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.
– All 31 Seton Hall men’s basketball regular season games in 2007-08 will be heard on its flagship radio station, 77WABC, it was announced on Tuesday.

The agreement will enable the Pirates faithful to easily find the games on the radio dial. In past seasons, Seton Hall game broadcasts lacked a consistency with one station. This year, all 31 regular season games will be broadcasted via 77WABC. Veteran radio announcers Gary Cohen and Dave Popkin will return for their fifth season covering Pirates basketball.

“We are very excited to continue our long-standing partnership with WABC,” Seton Hall Director of Athletics Joe Quinlan said. “Our fans are very familiar with the professional product at WABC and the convenience of all games being on 770 AM will enhance our patron’s experience.”

77WABC is America’s #1 NewsTalk Radio Station and is the 50,000 watt flagship station in New York City, home to The Curtis and Kuby Show, heard from 5:00-10:00am and the powerful afternoon line up beginning with the most listened-to talk show host Rush Limbaugh 12:00-3:00pm, followed by Sean Hannity 3:00-6:00pm, Mark Levin 6:00-8:00pm and the legendary Bob Grant 8:00-10:00pm.

“WABC is proud to continue our affiliation with Seton Hall Basketball and broadcast all games exclusively,” WABC President and General Manager Steve Borneman said. “We’re ready for an exciting basketball season with The Pirates.” WABC is also home to the NY Jets and Army Football.

Additionally, the WABC broadcast will be available for live audio streaming for all games on Seton Hall’s athletic website, www.SHUpirates.com.

As in the past, every Seton Hall game, home and away, will also be heard on WSOU 89.5 FM, Seton Hall student radio station.

The Pirates, under the direction of second-year head coach Bobby Gonzalez, will open the 2007-08 campaign and a new, state-of-the-art home arena, Prudential Center, on November 11 against the Monmouth Hawks. Game time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
